Data Collection and Storage

GoalFlow is a privacy-first daily goal execution and time management planner. We believe your productivity data should stay with you.

What We Collect

Client-Side Data (Your Browser Only):

• Daily goals and time blocks
• Weekly priorities and planning data
• Long-term goals and progress tracking
• Focus session history
• User preferences and settings
• Analytics about your productivity patterns

All of this data is stored exclusively in your browser's IndexedDB. We do not transmit this data to our servers or any third parties.

Analytics Data (Anonymous):

• Page views and navigation patterns
• General usage statistics
• This data is collected via Ahrefs Web Analytics (see Third-Party Services below)

Where Your Data Lives

In Your Browser:

All your goals, plans, time blocks, and personal productivity data are stored in IndexedDB in your web browser. This means:

• Your data never leaves your device
• We cannot access your personal data
• Clearing your browser data will delete your GoalFlow data
• Your data is not synced across devices (each device has its own local storage)

Data Export:

You can export all your data as JSON at any time through Settings > Data Export. We recommend doing this regularly as a backup.

When we analyze anonymous feedback trends, we create quick visual summaries with CloudShaper’s word clouds so no raw notes ever leave your device.

Data Retention

Client-Side Data:

• Retained indefinitely in your browser until you clear it or delete it through the app
• You control when to delete your data (Settings > Clear History / Delete Account)

Analytics Data:

• Retained by Ahrefs Web Analytics according to their data retention policy
• Anonymous and cannot be linked to your personal productivity data

Third-Party Services

Ahrefs Web Analytics:

• We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how users navigate our site
• Data collected: page views, referrers, browser type, general location (country/city)
• No personal identifiable information (PII) is sent to Ahrefs
• Your goals, plans, and productivity data are never sent to Ahrefs
• Purpose: Improve site navigation and user experience

Google AdSense:

• We may display ads on our site via Google AdSense
• Google may use cookies for ad personalization
• You can opt out of personalized advertising at https://www.google.com/settings/ads

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access: Export your data anytime via Settings > Data Export
• Delete: Clear all your data via Settings > Clear History
• Portability: Your exported JSON can be used elsewhere or re-imported

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
